On Friday 29th January 2016, the Club confirmed the signing of Michael Madl on loan from Sturm Graz until the end of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent, something that was duly done that summer when Madl agreed a two-year contract.
A centre-back who can also operate in midfield, he came through the youth ranks at Austria Vienna and made a number of appearances for the first team before joining Wiener Neustadt in 2010.
Madl has been with Sturm Graz since 2012 and was their captain prior to making the move to Fulham. He was also involved in the Austria national team squads during their successful qualification campaign for the upcoming European Championship.
He scored his first goal for the Club in the 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic at Craven Cottage.
