Paolo Benetti has a strong working relationship with Claudio Ranieri having worked with him for more than a decade prior to joining him at Fulham as Assistant Manager.
Having started his playing career at AC Milan and represented eight professional clubs, Benetti’s initial taste of coaching came in 2005 when he led Lazio’s youth team, and he linked up with Ranieri for the first time two years later at Italian giants Juventus.
They led the Old Lady to a third place finish in their maiden campaign back in Serie A, before following that up with a runners-up spot in 2008/09.
After moving to AS Roma, they repeated that second place feat the following campaign, before Benetti continued to assist Ranieri with Inter Milan and AS Monaco, whom they led to the Ligue 2 title.
A brief spell in charge of the Greece national team followed, before the pair headed to Leicester City where they famously won the Premier League title at odds of 5,000-1.
After leaving the Foxes, Benetti accompanied Ranieri to France where they guided Nantes to a ninth place finish in League 1.
