With his vibrancy and honest determination, Damien Duff is another to have won many admirers in the white of Fulham.
Blessed with an obvious attacking flair, Duff rarely fails to catch the eye. But he also impresses with the contribution that he makes defensively, with words of praise flowing exuberantly from fans, staff and team-mates.
He is also a player that can fit into almost any tactical plan. After an indifferent three years at Newcastle United, the left-footed winger was shifted to the right at Fulham, where his ability to cut inside has added an extra dimension to the Whites’ attack with his goals and assists providing a vital source of inspiration.
In and out of the starting XI in the first part of last season, the Republic of Ireland international enjoyed a very productive second half, and as a result, finished the 2011/12 campaign in positive fashion. Duff won his 100th cap for his country when he captained Ireland in the 2-0 loss to Italy at the 2012 European Championship.
