The Club announced the signing of Elsad Zverotić from Young Boys on a two-year deal with an option on the final day of the summer 2013 transfer window.

Zverotić, who played over 250 times in the Swiss Super League while at FC Wil and FC Luzern, had been at Young Boys since 2011.

The 26-year-old defender is a versatile player who can fit in anywhere in defence or midfield and will provide cover for German right-back Sascha Riether, who was voted the Club’s Player of the Year for 2012/13.

Zverotić is also a Montenegro international who made his debut for his country in 2008 and scored the winning goal against Bulgaria in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier. He played against England in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign and usually adopts a defensive midfield role for his country.

The Club was delighted to bring in the versatile defender who will be a valuable addition for the 2013/14 Barclays Premier League season and beyond.
