On 25th January 2013, Fulham announced the loan signing of Arsenal youngster Emmanuel Frimpong until the end of the season.
Frimpong is a combative central midfielder who will compete with the likes of Steve Sidwell, Chris Baird, Mahamadou Diarra and Giorgos Karagounis for a place in the Whites’ engine room.
Born in Ghana, Frimpong moved to the UK at the age of eight and joined the North London side’s academy shortly after. His breakthrough season came during the 2011/12 campaign when he made 14 appearances before Christmas for the Gunners.
In the new year he signed on loan for struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers and impressed for the Midlands side, before a serious injury brought his season to a premature end.
Now fully fit, Emmanuel is hoping that first-team football with the Whites will help him recapture the form that sees him so highly regarded by Arsene Wenger and his coaching staff.
