Having put injury behind him, Philippe Senderos enjoyed a lengthy spell in the Fulham First Team throughout 2011/12.
The vastly experienced defender did what no one had done before him too, in challenging the central defensive partnership of Brede Hangeland and Aaron Hughes. Tough and often uncompromising in the tackle and cultured on the ball, Senderos proved an astute reader of play as well, impressing as the Whites’ defence held off the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Well accustomed to the demands and rigours of the English top flight, a battle hardened pro he may be, yet Senderos also holds more subtle footballing qualities, for his acute reading of play and calm authority provide Fulham with protective assurance.
A regular for his country, with more than 50 caps to his name, he has represented Switzerland at the World Cup and European Championships.
