A player that is still eligible to line up for Mark Pembridge’s Under-16s, but such is Roberts’ promise the young forward is already running out for the Under-18s – and turning heads in the process.
For the youngster catches the eye as a result of his impressive blend of skill and technique, be that playing in behind a central striker or when drifting in from the right flank. His close control and confident dribbling ability also make him a valuable attacking outlet.
On top of making his Under-18s debut this term, Roberts also won his first England youth cap when coming on as a second-half substitute in the Under-16s’ 5-0 defeat of Northern Ireland in the Victory Shield in September 2012.
Whilst it has been an undoubtedly exciting start to the 2012/13 season for Roberts, the youngster knows the hard work has only just begun.
