Having scored for fun for our schoolboy teams, Alex Brister now stands as one of Fulham’s most highly-rated young defenders.
Now in his 10th year with the Club, the talented youngster and former Coombe School student has transformed his game in recent seasons and will more than likely feature on the right of Kit Symons’ back four during the 2012/13 Barclays Premier Development League campaign.
Despite the shift in position, Brister has lost none of his ambition going forward as a result of his confidence on the ball and natural ability to beat his opponent. His recent progress, hasn’t gone unnoticed at the top either, with Martin Jol promoting the player to First Team duties for the pre-season tour of Germany.
With such a close affinity to the Club, it goes without saying that Brister has aspirations of one day running out at Craven Cottage. With many of the top-flight’s full-backs starting out as strikers, perhaps the move will work well for both the player and Club.
