Having scored for fun for our schoolboy teams, Alex Brister now stands as one of Fulham’s most highly-rated young defenders.
Despite the shift in position, Brister has lost none of his ambition going forward as a result of his confidence on the ball and natural ability to beat his opponent. His recent progress, hasn’t gone unnoticed at the top either, with Martin Jol promoting the player to First Team duties for the pre-season tour of Germany in 2012.
Now in his 11th year with the Club, the talented youngster and former Coombe School student has transformed his game in recent seasons but was unfortunate that injury restricted his impact in 2012/13.
With such a close affinity to the Club, it goes without saying that Brister has aspirations of one day running out at Craven Cottage. With many of the top-flight’s full-backs starting out as strikers, perhaps the move will work well for both the player and Club.
