Over the past two seasons, the dynamic German Under-19 midfielder was one of the Academy’s stand-out performers and is now looking forward to the challenge of establishing himself in the Under-21 group.
He was Kit Symons’ Under-18 captain last term, so the Welsh coach will know all about his undoubted talent. With maturity beyond his tender years, Ronny Minkwitz prowls the pitch, dictating play and raising the tempo.
Unlike some international imports, the young midfielder relishes the physical encounters he faces out on the pitch and is a side of the game that he clearly enjoys. A regular catalyst for bright moves, he is also the scorer of spectacular goals.
With a fine range of passing too, Manager Martin Jol has already highlighted Minkwitz as a player to watch. If he can continue his development and fulfil his potential, the German schemer could well get his chance.
