Fulham U19s came from behind to defeat Brommapojkarna 2-1 in the Dallas Cup.

Fulham Under-19s came from behind to defeat IF Brommapojkarna 2-1 in their second group stage match in the Dallas Cup.

The Whites went down to an early goal by the Swedish outfit but responded shortly after the hour mark when Cameron Burgess headed in Josh Smile’s corner.

It looked as though they would have to settle for a point but substitute Liam Donnelly popped up to head home the winner in stoppage time, again from a corner.

Steve Wigley’s side were looking to build on their impressive 4-0 win on Sunday, but made the worst possible start when Brommapojkarna went in front inside the first few minutes. Some suspect defending resulted in the ball finding the back of the net following a corner.

Fulham looked for an immediate response and good work from Josh Passley saw him work space but no-one could get on the end of his low delivery that flashed across the face of goal.

The game was developing into something of a scrappy affair, with Lyle Della Verde and Smile both receiving yellow cards for a couple of late tackles.

The Whites had now taken control of the fixture with cross after cross bombarding the penalty area, but the finishing touch was proving elusive on each occasion.

As half-time approached, Fulham upped their game further still and should have drawn level when George Williams missed from close range, before Dean O’Halloran saw an effort saved by the goalkeeper.

French duo Moussa Dembélé and Ange-Freddy Plumain entered the action shortly after half-time as the Whites searched for a way back into the game but, despite wave after wave of pressure, the Swedish defence was proving sufficiently stubborn.

But the goal the young Whites' attacking mentality deserved arrived on 63 minutes when Burgess rose to head home Smile’s corner.

Fulham continued their dominance and Solomon Sambou was unfortunate to see his shot blocked, before Plumain had a strong shout for a penalty waved away when he went down in the box.

A couple of set-piece opportunities resulting in Plumain firing over and Donnelly missing from a few yards out, before the Northern Irishman popped up in time added on to secure a deserved victory for his side.
