Fulham’s Under-18s secured a first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Reading on Saturday.

After an even opening 30 minutes, Fulham went in front on the stroke of half-time when Dennis Adeniran cut in from the right and curled a left-footed effort into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

Kevin Keen’s side began the second half brightly, with Luca De La Torre making a couple of threatening runs.

And it was 2-0 to the Whites in the 57th minute, Josh Walker coolly converting from the penalty spot after Adeniran had been fouled in the box.

Foday Nabay spurned a good chance to make it 3-0 after fine work by De La Torre and substitute Stephen Humphrys.

Good interplay between DJ Buffonge and Humphrys then set up Aaron Redford but the striker couldn’t get a connection on his shot. Humphrys then hit bar and Buffonge missed a decent chance.

But it was 3-0 in the 86th minute. Excellent work by Redford down the left saw him find Humphrys whose shot took a deflection and beat the Reading keeper.

Reading pulled one back almost immediately after a mistake by Elijah Adebayo but Fulham held on for the victory.

Fulham: Norman, Elworthy, Adebayo, Sheckleford, Edun, Nabay, Kait, De La Torre, Adeniran (Humphrys 58), Walker (Fossey 79), Redford.
