A 90th-minute goal condemned Fulham Under-18s to a 1-0 defeat away to West Ham United on Saturday.
The hosts enjoyed the early possession and the Whites needed Josh Lukwata to turn a free-kick around the post on the quarter of an hour mark.
While the Hammers were quite comfortable on the ball, Fulham always looked dangerous on the break and had half chances when Josh Walker shot wide with an angled drive and Luca de la Torre blazed over.
Stephen Humphrys then saw his well-hit free-kick deflect wide on the stroke of half-time.
The second half was a much more even affair and Harrison Paton almost broke the deadlock in the 85th minute, but the home goalkeeper did well to claw his audacious chip away.
And that proved crucial as in the final minute of normal time, West Ham won possession in midfield and countered quickly before finishing the move off from close range to take maximum points.
