Fulham's Under-18s fell to a 2-1 defeat in their Saturday trip to Bodymoor Heath Training Ground.

Fulham’s Under-18s lost 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in their trip to Aston Villa. Fulham had plenty of attacking threats, however the Young Whites returned to London without the points.

Two goals in two minutes from Colin Odutayo and Isaiah Bazeley-Graham secured the win for the Villains, and Sylvester Jasper scored what was eventually a consolation goal as they battled to get back into the match.

Fulham went close to opening the scoring early, Jaydn Mundle-Smith sprinted down the left wing, beating his marker and put in a low ball for Jasper. He managed to get a shot away as he was closed down, missing by a margin.

7 minutes in and Villa had their first attack of the match, Odutayo from the right wing sent a searching ball into the Young Whites’ area, Scott Armsworth did well to clear the danger.

Fulham were straight back on the attack, Jasper down the left pulled a ball across the box which landed at Harvey Elliott’s feet, he aimed for the bottom right but his shot curled off target.

A quarter of an hour into the match the Young Whites were piling on the pressure down the left wing, Jasper cut in and had a strong shot saved by Kieran Boucher. The ball dropped to Fabio Carvalho, his shot was charged down.

29 minutes into the match Odetayo was slipped through on goal, George Wickens sprinted off his line and made a crucial block.

Five minutes later however, it was Wickens that gave the goal away. Dimitri Sea sprinted into Fulham’s box, and the keeper made a rash challenge giving Villa a penalty.

Odutayo stepped up and slotted to the right with Wickens diving the wrong way.

Villa doubled Fulham’s misery in the next minute, a corner was not effectively cleared leaving Bazeley-Graham to score from close range to make it 2-0.

Wickens was forced to make a decent save before the break to keep the Young Whites in the tie, and Boucher made two great saves to deny Elliott and Carvalho from the right.

Jasper was working hard from his left wing in the second half, he cut in twice more and fired at goal but Boucher was having a strong match and made two equally good saves.

With half an hour left to play, Elliott ran across the face of the area and let loose a dipping, powerful shot. Boucher managed to tip the effort over the bar to preserve his clean sheet for the time being.

Fulham were denied once more, Boucher had been beaten by Jasper, but substitute Charlie McConnachie got back and cleared off the line.

Jasper had a crack from the edge of the area with six minutes to go, the keeper got low and kept the shot out.

Fulham finally got on the score sheet with five minutes to go, but it was not enough. Elliott chipped through a packed box to Jasper at the back post, he chested the ball down and clinically fired into the back of the net.

Fulham pressed for an equaliser but to no avail and headed back to London without the points as the match finished 2-1.
