A Timmy Abraham chip wasn't enough for the Young Whites to take home any points from Leicester as they lost 2-1 away.

Fulham’s Under-18s lost 2-1 in their away trip to Leicester City on Saturday morning. It was difficult conditions at the Leicester City Training Ground, with snow coming down and a strong wind.

Tyrese Shad scored the opening goal for the hosts an hour into the match, Timmy Abraham equalised with a brilliant chip, yet it was the hosts who went to win. The Foxes won and scoring a penalty in the final quarter of an hour through Simran Thandi.

It was an early period of pressure from the home team, they tried to put balls into Fulham’s box, but the wind was making it difficult.

All of Fulham’s attacks were coming down the left early on, Dan Martin consistently lofting good balls forward for Fabio Carvalho and Timmy Abraham to chase onto.

23 minutes in and Leicester thought they had scored, the back four of Fulham stepped forward to leave Shade in an offside position as he struck past Luca Ashby-Hammond, the flag went up immediately.

10 minutes later the Foxes went close, Morgan Brown chipped the ball into the box from 25-yards out, carried by the wind the ball pinged off the crossbar and back into play.

With 6 minutes till the break, Joe Felix whipped a fantastic ball into the box towards Sylvester Jasper, a Leicester defender managed to get in position just in time to head the ball away.

The second half Fulham were comfortable in possession and were controlling the tempo. In the 57th minute Jaydn Mundle-Smith ran from the back and slipped a ball to Jasper on the left wing

Jasper cut onto his right and took the first shot of the half, the keeper did well to save the ball.

In the next play Fulham attacked down the right, Elliott cut in this time, his effort was charged down. Moments later, Carvalho had his own chance from a short corner, firing inches over the crossbar, Fulham were starting to dominate on chances.

However, it was Leicester that caught Fulham out. A scuffed clearance fell to Shade, he fired straight past Ashby-Hammond to break the deadlock.

Abraham brought Fulham back into the match in the 65th minute. The goalie tried to clear, but the Young Whites’ striker managed to block the ball and gain possession 30-yards out.

With the keeper off his line, he sent an exquisite chip over his head and into the back of the net to make it 1-1.

In the 73rd minute Ashby-Hammond kept the game level as he was forced to make an excellent save at his near post when Shade fired at goal.

Although two minutes later, the referee awarded them a penalty for a challenge at the edge of the box by Martin. Thandi took the spot kick and went down the middle with Ashby-Hammond diving to the left.

In the dying minutes Chris Kelly smashed an effort on target with his left foot on the half volley, but the keeper saved well to prevent a second equaliser. The Foxes were able to see out the match at 2-1.
