Timmy Abraham's early goal wasn't enough for the Young Whites to take any points from their encounter with Spurs on Saturday morning.

Fulham’s Under-18s fell to a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Motspur Park on Saturday morning.

Timmy Abraham opened the scoring early, but Spurs pulled themselves back into the game before Troy Parrot scored the winner in the second half.

Fulham opened their account with the first shot of the match six minutes in. Sylvester Jasper skipped through the middle of the park and slotted a through ball to Abraham.

The striker cut onto his right and fired for the bottom left corner. Jonathan De Bie got and hand to the ball, but it wasn’t enough to keep the shot from ending into the back of his net.

Four minutes later Spurs had their first opportunity of the match, Parrot was through on the left and shot across the face of goal, missing the inside of the post.  He had another opportunity in the next play, but his effort was blocked out well for a corner.

A quarter of an hour into the match, Spurs were playing higher up the pitch and trying to create chances but the Fulham defence were organised. In the 17th minute the visitors thought they’d found their luck for a second.

Julian Schwarzer was forced off his line and Parrot struck past him, Jaydn Mundle-Smith however, managed to get back onto the line and hook the ball out of danger.

Minutes later, Abraham could have had a second. A long ball found Harvey Elliott on the right wing, a he cut a cross to the near post finding Abraham. He poked an effort on target, but a good reaction save denied him.

Spurs found their way back into the match in the 23rd minute, Armado Shashoua at the edge of the box stepped past Ryan De Havilland who rushed out and he picked out the top left corner to make it 1-1.

Half an hour in and Schwarzer was called into action, making a strong save at his near post from Neil Bennett’s shot.

Five minutes before the break and Schwarzer made another outstanding save, the ball was whipped in from the left and 7 bulleted a header on target, the keeper somehow managed to push it over his bar to keep the game level.

The Young Whites started the second half well, Abraham had a shot saved from a one on one, and Jasper put a strong header on target.

However, eight minutes into the half Spurs broke quickly down the right, Schwarzer got low to save a Tariq Hinds shot, but the effort rebounded to Parrot as he struck for the lead.

With 20 minutes left on the clock, substitute Fabio Carvalho struck from the edge of the area, missing the inside of the left post by inches. Fulham were pressing hard for an equaliser.

Carvalho had a penalty shout late on, striking at goal but the ball coming off a defender, the Young Whites called for a handball but nothing came. Fulham were not able to get anything from the game as the match finished 2-1.
