Fulham went down to a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at Motspur Park on Saturday.

Fulham’s Under-21s went down to a 2-0 defeat to their Tottenham Hotspur counterparts at Motspur Park on Saturday.

The Whites, who gave starts to Adam Taggart, Chris David and Thomas Eisfeld, were on the back foot early on but almost took the lead in the 15th minute when Mananga Jonathan Buatu saw a header tipped over by Luke McGee.

David then hit a free-kick straight into the Spurs wall, before the visitors took the lead in the 33rd minute when a curling cross from the left by Nathan Oduwa evaded everyone and nestled into the top right-hand corner.

Fulham responded immediately and Ange-Freddy Plumain found space but shot straight at McGee.

Taggart and Dean O’Halloran were replaced by Buomesca Tue Na Bangna and Tom Richards for the start of the second half and the Whites had the ball in the Tottenham net early on but Buatu saw his effort ruled out for offside.

Magnus Norman made a good stop to prevent Tottenham extending their lead on the hour mark, saving with his legs after a Spurs played had skipped through.

But it was 2-0 to Spurs in the 69th minute when substitute Dan Akindayini slotted past Norman with virtually his first touch of the ball.

As Fulham pushed forward to try and get back into the game, Spurs broke three-on-two and a combination of Norman and a goalline clearance by Cameron Burgess kept Tottenham out.

David sent a shot narrowly wide late on, Norman made another good save and Richard sent a shot just over before the final whistle sounded.
