Arthur Thomas Dies

Treasurer Arthur Thomas helped to turn Fulham into a football club in its first few decades and in The Book of Football published in 1905-06 the Fulham FC secretary Herbert Jackson paid his own tribute to him after his death in 1903: "To him more than any other soul Fulham owes its very existence today. His playing days were short… but as a member of the committee he rendered excellent service, and for years he acted as treasurer when the club’s coffers were mostly empty, and the 'necessary' was provided by the holder of the funds.".
