Fulham were undone by a Chris Wood penalty as the Whites went down 1-0 to Burnley in a pre-season friendly at their training base.
The Whites started brightly with excellent wing play from Neeskens Kebano and Aboubakar Kamara keeping the Burnley defence on their toes in the first-half.
Kebano and Joe Bryan had second-half chances but were unable to get on the scoresheet before Fulham rang the changes around the hour mark, and Wood placed his penalty ten minutes later.
Scott Parker named a strong side to take on Burnley at their training base in Portugal with Marcus Bettinelli in goal, Alfie Mawson at centre-back and Tom Cairney in the midfield.
Youngsters Steven Sessegnon and Luca de la Torre were handed a start as were returning forwards Rui Fonte and Kamara.
Burnley had plenty of Premier League experience in their line-up with Nick Pope in goal for the first-half and new signings Erik Pieters and Jay Rodriguez given a run out.
Rodriguez looked like he gave the Clarets an early lead but his header from a free-kick was quickly ruled offside.
After some nice link-up play down the left between Kebano and de la Torre, Bryan fired off a shot which was turned behind for a corner 10 minutes into the game.
With the Portuguese sun beating down, chances were few and far between, de la Torre found himself some space in the Burnley box and forced a save from Pope midway through the half.
Fulham were constantly stretching the Burnley defence with their wide play but despite the threat of Kebano and Kamara, the Whites struggled to create clear cut chances and the half drew to a close at 0-0.
Parker swapped three players at the break with Stefan Johansen, Matt O’Riley and Floyd Ayité coming in for de la Torre, Kevin McDonald and Kamara.
Burnley made 10 changes with only Josh Benson remaining on the pitch, Joe Hart was given the nod in goal and Ashley Barnes was up front.
Fulham started brightly with Bryan, Kebano and Fonte linking up nicely, creating a dangerous move ending with Fulham’s left-back having a shot blocked from close-range.
Kebano unleashed a testing shot in the 52ndminute but Hart parried it wide for Fulham corner.
The Congolese winger was causing all sorts of problems with his pace and just before the hour-mark his cross found Fonte but the forward’s header floated over the bar.
Parker substituted the remaining eight players who started the match, with Aleksandar Mitrović and Fabri among the changes on 63 minutes.
Matej Vydra replaced Benson in the 65thminute of the game.
Fulham were undone when Cyrus Christie fouled Ben Mee from a set-piece on 70 minutes and Wood dispatched the penalty.
Burnley grew into the game and the physicality of their senior players saw the game out, but there were plenty of positives for Parker to take ahead of the Whites next game in Portugal against Porto.
