New-Zealand born Matt is a technically gifted midfielder. He signed for Fulham from Brentford in 2016.

He signed his first professional contract in 2021 and was named in a number of Premier League matchday squads towards the backend of the 2022/23 season, the same season in which he won the Johnny Haynes award. Matt captained the U21 side for the following season and led the team to Premier League Cup glory.

He has spent time on loan at Northampton, Chesterfield and Braintree in recent seasons.
