Timmy Abraham scored the only goal before receiving a straight red in the final match of the season.

Fulham’s Under-18s ran out 1-0 winners against West Ham United in their final match of the season on Saturday morning at Motspur Park.

Timmy Abraham scored the only goal of the match in the first half, before receiving a straight red card in the 68th minute.

Fulham had the first potent attack of the match in the fourth minute. Showkat Tahir drove across midfield and was fouled, the ref waved play on and Sonny Hilton carved open the West Ham defence with a cutting through ball.

Cody Drameh received the pass on the right wing and drilled through the box, Abraham just couldn’t steer the ball into the net.

Luca Ashby-Hammond was then forced to make a strong save at his top left corner, denying Luis Watson’s effort from outside the area.

A quarter of an hour into the match and Abraham should have opened for the Young Whites. The ball was put on a plate for the striker but he couldn’t get his feet sorted and West Ham managed to recover.

Fulham made the breakthrough in the 29th minute, Jasper took the right back on in a one-on-one down the left wing and beat his man.

Jasper fired a ball across goal and found Abraham at the back post who tapped in to make it 1-0.

Fulham continued to dominate the rest of the half, Abraham had a half chance in the 41st minute after Drameh put in a teasing early ball. However, two minutes later he was slipped in for a one-on-one with the keeper but fired straight at him.

In the second half it was the Irons who got the first shot off. From outside the area, Will Coreenidge tested Ashby-Hammond with a curling shot but it was well within reach for the ‘keeper.

Jonathan Page came on in the 60th minute and almost made an instant impact. His first touch was a through ball that slipped Abraham through on goal.

The striker’s feet were clipped but he carried on and shot across goal, missing the left post by the smallest of margins.

In the 68th minute the Young Whites were facing a battle to keep the lead. Abraham received a red card for his part in an altercation with one of the West Ham defenders, leaving his team mates unnecessarily down to 10 men.

With 20 minutes on the clock Ashby-Hammond became busier, making an important save at his near post.

In the final moments of the match West Ham should have snatched a point. Odyseseas Spryridis lost his marker and in front of goal skied his effort over the bar.

The Young Whites finished off their season as they started it, with three points over London rivals.
