Bio

In January 2023, the Club confirmed the signing of Saša Lukić from Torino for an undisclosed fee.

A midfielder who is comfortable operating anywhere through the centre of the pitch, Lukić agreed a four-and-a-half-year deal, with a Club option to extend by a further 12 months.

Following in the footsteps of his compatriot Aleksandar Mitrović, Lukić progressed through Partizan’s youth setup, getting a first taste of senior football with their affiliate club Teleoptik in 2013/14, scoring three goals in 21 appearances as a 17-year-old.

Back at Partizan, he helped the team to a second place finish in the Serbian SuperLiga, with his performances attracting the attentions of Torino who brought him to Italy in the summer of 2016.

After helping Il Toro to a ninth place Serie A finish in his maiden campaign, Lukić got experience of another country under his belt when he headed to Levante on loan.

It had looked as though Levante were at risk of relegation from La Liga, but eight wins from their final 11 matches meant they comfortably survived.

Lukić featured in six of those eight victories – 18 times in total – setting up a last minute winner against Malaga, as well as assisting in their famous 5-4 triumph over Barcelona, the only league defeat suffered by the Catalan side all season.

Having returned to Torino, Lukić was mainly used as a substitute in the first few months of 2018/19, before establishing himself as a regular starter in the second half of the campaign. He scored his first goals for the club in a draw with Juventus and victory over Lazio as they claimed a Europa League spot after finishing seventh in Serie A.

After helping the side preserve their top flight status in the subsequent two seasons, 2021/22 was a superb campaign – both collectively and individually – as Torino finished 10th and Lukić registered five goals and four assists in 35 league matches.

He departed Turin with the club in eighth position, and has 14 goals to his name in his 168 appearances.

Making his senior debut for Serbia in the Nations League in September 2018, Lukić is now a mainstay in his nation’s midfield,  starting all of their matches at the 2022 World Cup.
