Part of the great France midfield of 1984, Jean Tigana was the surprise choice to take over at Fulham in the summer of 2000.
In his first season at the Cottage, he helped Fulham win promotion to the Premier League. The Whites had set a new record by winning their first 11 games of the season and went on to claim the First Division title with 101 points.
He later led Fulham to the Semi-Finals of the FA Cup and into the UEFA Cup, but with the Whites facing the real threat of relegation, he departed the Club in April 2003, with former player Chris Coleman and Academy Director Steve Kean taking temporary charge.
