Named Fulham Head Coach in late 2015, Slaviša Jokanović’s first task at Craven Cottage was to lead us to safety in the Championship, with the Whites languishing just three points above the drop zone when he was appointed.
Six wins in the second half of the season saw us comfortably avoid the drop, and from then on promotion was the only focus. Jokanović introduced an attacking style which saw us reach the Play-Offs, only to cruelly fall short against a stubborn and aggressive Reading side in the Semi-Finals.
The next campaign will live long in the memory, though. A disappointing start to the season saw us sitting in 17th by mid-November, but a remarkable 23-match unbeaten run starting at Christmas saw us come within a whisker of automatic promotion. Missing out on the top-two proved to be a blessing in disguise, however, as Tom Cairney’s winner at Wembley brought the Club one of our most famous ever days.
The Premier League proved to be a tough nut to crack, though, and Jokanović was relieved of his duties following a 2-0 defeat at Anfield in November.
