Johnny Haynes played his final game for Fulham in a 1-1 draw with Stockport County at Craven Cottage. Known as 'The Maestro', Haynes was and is idolised by the Fulham faithful, as he spent the vast majority of his career on the banks of the Thames despite offers from bigger clubs. He easily holds the club aggregate appearance record with 657 games in a white shirt, and also held the club top scorer spot with 157 goals until Gordon Davies surpassed him in 1989. Haynes also enjoyed a glittering England career - earning 56 caps, captaining the side on 22 of those occasions.
