After a season which saw Fulham's initial promotion charge fall by the wayside, Paul Bracewell was sacked in March with seven League games remaining. Fulham striker Karl-Heinz Riedle and former Liverpool boss Roy Evans took temporary charge until the end of the 1999-2000 season and in the summer Jean Tigana was appointed.
