Everyone at Fulham was saddened to hear that our former player Matt Brazier passed away on Monday evening, at the age of 42.

Matt had been bravely fighting Non-Hodgkin Follicular Lymphoma. He leaves behind his wife Michelle and sons James, Ethan and Lucas, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

Matt, a left-back who could also play further forward, joined the Whites for the second half of the 1997/98 season, making his debut as a substitute in a 1-0 win at York City.

He scored his only goal for the Club two weeks later as Preston North End were beaten 2-1 at the Cottage, and he ended the campaign with seven appearances to his name as Fulham reached the Division Two Play-Offs.

Matt spent the first part of the subsequent season on loan at Cardiff City, before returning to play six more times for Fulham as we won the title at a canter. He then headed back to the Welsh capital in a permanent move.
