André Schürrle has won the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award for January after his sublime strike against Burnley was deemed the best.

Denis Odoi lofted a great pass over the Burnley defence for Schürrle to latch on to and open the scoring with a tidy half volley from the edge of the box.

He beat off competition from Sergio Aguero, Willian, Marcus Rashford, James-Ward-Prowse, Callum Wilson and Diogo Jota to claim the accolade.

Schürrle has become Fulham’s second winner of the award after Jean Michaël Seri picked up the trophy for August with his goal at the Cottage against Burnley.

The German was also nominated in October for his long range effort against Cardiff but just missed out that month.

André sat down with fulhamfctv to discuss his thoughts on picking up the award and looks ahead to a big game against Manchester United on Saturday.
