Although results haven’t gone Fulham’s way since he took charge, Scott Parker is still relishing the opportunity of welcoming Manchester City to Craven Cottage.
Parker was given something of a baptism of fire when taking the caretaker reigns, with the City clash following up meetings with Chelsea, Leicester City and Liverpool.

And while that trio of fixtures yielded zero points, it certainly hasn’t been through lack of effort.
“The three matches we’ve played have been against top teams, but for all the positives we’ve taken from them, the results haven’t fallen our way,” Parker stated. “It’s fine margins in this league.
“An offside disallowed goal for Ryan Sessegnon against Chelsea, an error against Liverpool, they’re the differences, they’re the fine margins. But there have been positives along the way, and we’re looking forward to Saturday.
“I feel like I’m saying the same thing every week as it’s obviously another massive challenge ahead of us against a fantastic team.
“I think we all understand the challenge ahead; it’s fantastic players and a fantastic team, along with a manager who’s arguably going to go down as one of the greatest.
“It’s a massive challenge for us as a club – the players, myself and the coaches, and with that we are looking forward to it.”
The Citizens are aiming to secure an unprecedented quadruple this season, and when asked how you prepare to face a side of that quality, Parker replied: “You certainly have to adapt for it.
“We’re up against a well coached and well drilled team, and ultimately we need to try and give the lads as much information as we can and prepare them as well as we can to face the challenges ahead of us.
“They’re that good that we can put all of the scenarios in place and understand how they’re set up, but you’re still up against it because they’re that good.
“I like to think we’ll go into the game prepared well, and we’ll see what happens. We’re going to fight and drive as much as we can to finish this season as well as possible.”
