It was barely worth penning this article, such was the consensual acceptance that Aleksandar Mitrović would claim his second Man of the Match award of the season.

Fulham fans often plump for a goal scorer when choosing their star performer, and so it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion when someone nets three.
A huge 82.2 per cent of supporters opted for Mitrović as their Man of the Match against Luton Town. On another day the excellent Harrison Reed may have taken the accolade, but due to Mitrović’s heroics he only garnered 10.2 per cent. Ivan Cavaleiro came in third on 2.6.
Mitrović’s hat-trick – which took him three clear at the top of the Championship scoring charts – demonstrated just how good an all-round striker he is.
The first was all about power as he slammed home high and hard at the Putney End. For number two he needed movement, to ensure he was in the right place at the right time. And his third saw him disregard any concerns for his safety, sticking his face in front of a raised boot to glance in Joe Bryan’s sumptuous cross.
