While pleased to secure his second shutout of the season, Alphonse Areola would happily have traded it for three points against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The goalkeeper was in fine form once more as Fulham were held at home by the Seagulls, but the Frenchman is more about team success than individual accolades.
“I think I helped the team to stay in the game,” he said when asked about his performance. “I’m happy about the clean sheet but I wanted more.
“If we could have won that would have been better for us. It’s a clean sheet, but I would prefer the victory.
“It’s a different game without fans, although we were prepared for this. We wanted the win. We didn’t get it but at least we didn’t lose, so it’s a good point for us.

“It keeps our momentum building. It gives us a boost that we have moved out of the relegation zone, and I hope that we stay out of this zone and we will earn lots of points to move us far away from it.”
The Whites do not have to wait long for their next Premier League outing, with a trip to Newcastle United on the horizon this weekend.
“Now we must focus on Saturday,” Areola said. “We have to get the job done and I hope we will have the three points.
“We have confidence. Now we recover and tomorrow we focus on our preparations for the game on Saturday.
“It’s going to be a tough game, like always, and we’ll have to fight like we do in every game.”
