Fulham Under-18s were forced to settle for a point against Arsenal, with neither side able to break the deadlock.

Both sides created chances in what was a fairly even game in North London.

The first half lacked clear-cut opportunities, with the hosts dominating possession in spells without troubling our goalkeeper Alex Borto.

Arsenal’s number nine Luke Plange came close on a couple of occasions from corners, with his two headed efforts firing just wide.

Adrion Pajaziti thought he’d opened the scoring for the young Whites just before half-time when his low driven shot towards the corner was well saved by Arsenal ‘keeper Ovie Ejeheri.

The hosts came out stronger after the break and hit the woodwork soon after play resumed. A wide free-kick was swung into the box, which failed to pick up a touch from any player before bouncing off the back post.

Matt Dibley Dias V Arsenal

Our biggest chance of the game came from a wonderful ball over the top from midfielder Matt Dibley-Dias. His pass found Mika Biereth, who was through on goal before attempting a square ball to Ollie Sanderson. If the pass was played successfully, Sanderson was free to tap in, but his connection let him down and the chance went begging.

Fulham also hit the woodwork when Luke Harris’ header cannoned off the crossbar after connecting with an early Pajaziti cross.

Ollie O’Neill was on the end of another big opportunity, with his effort while through on goal denied by the goalkeeper.

In the end, defence got the better of attack and the final whistle blew with it goalless.
