Dan Crawford from the Fulham Supporters' Trust said:

"I think it's terrific. Fabio's one of those players who has excited anyone who has watched him play at youth level. He has great vision with his passing and an energy that's really exciting. For supporters, there's nothing better than seeing a homegrown product break through all the way up to the First Team.

"To get this award is recognition from his teammates and his coaches that he's really achieved something special. Hopefully this is just the start for him."

Dan continued, "as a fan you always wonder whether a player can translate the form they showed in youth football into the senior setup. Fabio certainly hasn't looked out of place. That goal he scored against Southampton last season demonstrated his levels of confidence and calmness when he gets in promising positions.

"It's a massive boost for the fans because it proves that the club can develop its own talent and give them a pathway which is ever so important."

Fabio was delighted after being presented the award at Motspur Park:

"This is a very prestigious award and I'm really happy to have won it. My hard work has been rewarded, not just through this award but through the opportunities this club has given me.

"I look back on my Academy days very fondly. I'm still really young, so it's important for me to stay level-headed and humble. The Academy gave me so much and I often look back on my time working my way up."

Academy Director, Mike Cave, added:

"Fabio fully deserves this award. He's consistently performed very well not only on the pitch but off it too.

"He's developed well over a long period of time and was excellent last season for our Under-23s. He was part of a very strong Under-18s team the season before that, so we all certainly saw this direction of travel. Everybody in the Academy is really really proud of him."
