- Everton will go into the Valentine’s Day encounter on the crest of a wave after coming out on top of a nine-goal thriller against Tottenham Hotspur in the week, Bernard’s extra-time winner securing a 5-4 victory in the Emirates FA Cup.
- They secured a morale-boosting result last time out in the Premier League, too, when Dominic Calvert-Lewin netted in the fifth minute of stoppage time to claim a 3-3 draw at high-flying Manchester United.

Everton team news
Jordan Pickford has missed the Toffees’ previous three outings with an abdominal injury, and the England goalkeeper will against be absent at the weekend. Dominic Calvert-Lewin picked up a hamstring injury against Spurs so will also miss out, while midfielders Allan and Jean-Philippe Gbamin are not yet ready to return. James Rodriguez and Andre Gomes are back in contention, though.

Scott Parker confirmed that Tom Cairney and Terence Kongolo are making progress, but Sunday’s game will come too soon for the pair.
