Fulham Under-23s are back in action on Friday (13:00), as they look for a second win in a week against PL2 strugglers Reading.

A win for the young Whites would see them leapfrog Wolves into second place.

Form

Fulham:

After a disappointing defeat to Leeds back in December, the boys started 2021 with three points away to Crystal Palace. The result saw them move up to third in the league table, despite sitting bottom just a few weeks before. The return of players such as Fabio Carvalho and Sylvester Jasper has been one of the key reasons for the improvement in form.

Reading:

It's been a difficult spell for the Young Royals, who remain bottom of the league after losing their final game of last year 3-1 to Burnley. They still represent a danger though, as they proved with their victories over Middlesbrough and Aston Villa.

Last Time Out

Our Under-23s were at the peak of their powers in their opening game of the season, firing four past Reading courtesy of Carvalho and Jasper, who both scored braces.

Player Thoughts

Midfielder Ryan De Havilland knows what to expect from Friday's opposition.

"After beating them at the start of the season, I'm sure they'll want revenge on us. They'll be aggressive and in our faces but I'm confident we'll be able to soak up the pressure and come out with the three points.

"It's definitely an opportunity to climb up the table, especially after coming off the back of a win against Palace."

Ryan De Havilland V Stoke City

Ryan, who has made nine league appearances so far this season, feels there is a real belief amongst the squad that they can challenge in this division.

"We went on a run of losses which was tough to take, but we've bounced back now which shows the resilience we have as a team. We're a tight knit group and we know we're good enough to go on and fight for the top spot."
