The arrival of David Button in the summer saw the pair share game time in 2016/17. But Betts was always behind his teammates even when he didn’t have the gloves. This save at Sunderland will go down as one of his best, in our final match before a 23-game unbeaten run. Betts made 14 Championship appearances in 2019/20 as the Whites returned to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
