How would you describe yourself as a player?
I think I’m a tenacious full-back. I like to go up and down the wing and I’m a versatile player who can play in other roles like right-back or centre-midfield. My best attribute is crossing and I’m quite a fast player as well.

You spent time with the club as a trialist before signing your first professional deal back in October. How are you enjoying your time at Fulham?
I’ve really enjoyed my time here and I know I’ve learnt a lot of things which can help me and better me as a player. All the lads here are really warm and inviting and I think I fit in really well.
You joined us from Isthmian League South-East side Whyteleafe FC. How different is PL2 football in relation to style of play and what have you done so far to adapt?
When it comes to PL2 football, you need to concentrate for the full 90 minutes. If you switch off for one moment it can lead to a potential goal, especially as a full-back. The style of football is also more attractive at this level. It’s more about possession and less about long balls.
What are your objectives for the next year?
Firstly, I’d like to establish myself as a starter in this squad. In the long-term, I’d like to continue improving my targets individually which might help to potentially end up training with the senior squad.
You started for the Under-23s in the EFL Trophy against League One side Burton Albion. Was that a special moment for you?
It’s definitely one to remember! It was a special night for me and my family and I know they were proud of me. It’s a game I often watch back and take things from in terms of improving. That was really different to a PL2 tie in that it was much more physical and Burton were very good on the ball. At times it was difficult for me as it was my first start, but I think I adapted to the game quickly, especially in the second half. I really enjoyed it.

“Lesley joined us for pre-season and impressed with his positive attitude and desire. He has never been in an Academy before having played at Whyteleafe and for Kinetic but he has good primary skills and can play on either side at full-back or wide midfield.”
