Joachim Andersen has been nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for February.

The centre-back, along with his defensive colleagues, was outstanding last month as we secured four clean sheets. Indeed, only three goals were conceded by Fulham in 540 minutes of football in February.

Andersen – operating as Captain – did not miss a second of the action, and his committed displays at the back have clearly not gone unnoticed, as he now finds himself up against Harvey Barnes, Joao Cancelo, Bruno Fernandes, Ilkay Gundogan, Jesse Lingard, Ruben Neves and Raphinha for the prestigious accolade.

The Dane’s command of defence is beautifully complemented by an array of passing, with his crossfield deliveries and raking balls down the pitch becoming a key feature of Fulham’s attacking play.

Technically, he only registered one assist in February – his flick to Ola Aina at Burnley – but we’re counting two after his stunning pass set Ademola Lookman on his way to the winner at home to Sheffield United.

The voting for February’s Player of the Month is open from now until 6pm on Monday.
