Under-23s left-back Ziyad Larkeche has been nominated for the PL2 Player of the Month Award for October.
It was an impressive period for the 19-year-old, with his goal against Nottingham Forest helping the 23s to a hard-fought home win. His excellent 1v1 defending played a part in the team keeping clean sheets in their other two league matches.
Not only does the Frenchman provide cover at the back, but he also creates opportunities for his side up the other end of the pitch. He recorded two assists in our league game against Reading, which ended with a 3-0 home win for the young Whites.
Ziyad is up against Jamal Baptiste (West Ham United), Anthony Elanga (Manchester United), Dilan Markanday (Tottenham Hotspur), Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand (Arsenal), Aaron Ramsey (Aston Villa) and Dynel Simeu (Southampton).
Aston Villa's Caleb Chukwuemeka was the winner of the award for September.
