More to Mitro
When you hit 19 goals in your first 16 games of the season, you’re rightly labelled a natural goal scorer. But we’ve seen plenty of times under Marco Silva that there is much, much more to Aleksandar Mitrović’s game, with Wednesday night an excellent example. He set up both of Harry Wilson’s goals, the first one with a beautiful cross-field switch. “He gets his goal and then he’s happy to square the ball for me to get my two as well, it shows that he’s not just a goal scorer, he’s a team player as well,” Wilson told FFCtv post-match.

Biggest away win in 52 years
You would be forgiven for thinking that this was our grandest ever victory on the road – indeed it was Blackburn’s heaviest ever home loss – but Fulham in fact went one better in September 1969. We headed to Halifax Town for a Division Three encounter and came away with a stunning 8-0 victory, with Fulham legend Steve Earle scoring five! We did the double over Halifax with three points at the Cottage later in the season, too, though that 2-1 triumph was slightly more routine.

King of South America
Ben Brereton Diaz pledging his allegiance to the Chilean national team has coincided with his fine form at club level, with the Rovers forward the closest challenger to Mitro in the scoring charts at the moment. One lashed shot aside, though, he didn’t have a sniff of goal on Wednesday. Instead, it was another South American who had his shooting boots on, with Rodrigo Muniz clinically dispatching two of the three late chances that fell his way.

Sharing the goals and assists
In addition to Neeskens Kebano, Harry Wilson, and Rodrigo Muniz taking some of the goal scoring pressure off Aleksandar Mitrović’s shoulders, we also saw a range of the lads claim an assist. Six different players teed up a teammate on Wednesday. In addition to Mitrović’s double set-up for Wilson, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Jean Michaël Seri, Tom Cairney, Kebano and Antonee Robinson all got their creative juices flowing on a relentless night in front of goal.

43 and counting
Fulham have now found the back of the net 43 times in 16 Championship outings. It’s an obscene number, especially when you consider that it’s 16 more than any other team in the division. In fact, the only side that comes close across Europe’s top leagues is Bayern Munich who have scored 38 goals so far.
