Fulham brought home the bragging rights from the West London derby with a 4-1 victory over QPR on Saturday afternoon.
An Aleksandar Mitrović brace was complimented by a Bobby De Cordova-Reid strike and a late Antonee Robinson goal to give us the three points.
Lyndon Dykes did equalise after coming on at the break, but Marco Silva's side showed plenty of character to ensure a memorable day at the office.
Following the international break, there was a fresh look to the Fulham line-up. Marek Rodák made his first league start of the season, whist there was a certain Tom Cairney back on the bench for the first time this campaign also.
The Whites started with a swagger and were knocking it around nicely. After only a minute, Tosin sprayed a lovely early ball out to Ivan Cavaleiro down the left, but the final piece of the puzzle wasn’t quite being found as the QPR backline kept us at arm’s length.
Just before the 10-minute mark came a reward for the early dominance, through a familiar source. After a sumptuous Jean Michaël Seri pass found Neeskens Kebano down the right to start the move, the ball was teed up to Denis Odoi to deliver towards Mitrović, who did the rest. Holding off his marker, he used one touch to bring it under control and one to slam home at the near post to give us the lead.

Charlie Austin had a sight on goal for QPR after 16 minutes, selling his marker with a drop of the shoulder before unleashing a strike from range, which headed well over Rodák’s bar.
Marco Silva’s men went so close to doubling their advantage a couple of minutes later from a corner. A whipped Harry Wilson cross found the head of Mitrović, requiring a strong glove from Seny Dieng to parry, and again from the rebound, before it was eventually scrambled away.
Just after the half-hour mark Fulham were forced into an early substitution, as Cavaleiro went down in some pain. On came the ever-versatile De Cordova-Reid to fill in.
With five minutes left of the half came the greatest scare of the game so far from a Fulham perspective. On a QPR attack, Moses Odubajo’s slice somehow worked out perfectly for Chris Willock on the left side of the box. He struck early across goal and saw his effort cannon off the outside of the post.
Seconds later up the other end came another chance for a second goal of the contest. Wilson showed his speed on the breakaway down the right to eventually make it to the byline and square to Mitrović, whose poke at goal got a crucial block from Rob Dickie.

After a spectacular half-time show from the Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleaders, we were back off for the second half, starting strongly again. Once Odoi had pinched the ball back from Austin high upfield, Harrison Reed played in Kebano down the right who drove to the line, before lashing a shot across goal on the angle, which had to be clawed clear.
With 54 minutes on the clock QPR got on level terms. On the counter-attack, Willock slid in the half-time substitute, Lyndon Dykes, who went around Rodák and drilled into an open net. There was more bad news from the goal, as Joe Bryan’s nasty collision with the post whilst trying to block meant he had to be withdrawn – Robinson coming on in his spot.
It was an open game now as both teams were clearly not satisfied with a point. Harrison Reed took it on himself in the latest forward surge, blasting his shot narrowly wide from 35-yards.

After 67 minutes, it happened again… Mitrović scored. A lung-busting burst forward from Robinson sparked off the move, playing it to Kebano down the left this time. He bought a yard of space from his marker with a shimmy, before lifting it into our big Serbian, who made it look simple as he outmuscled his man and nodded it in off the post.
Five minutes later and we had a cushion through De Cordova-Reid. Originating from the left once more, the ball found its way to Jean Michaël Seri, who borrowed it from our Jamaican before slotting in a delicious delivery. De Cordova-Reid did the rest, taking it away from his marker before arrowing across goal for 3-1.
Kebano could've had a goal of his own to partner his assist with the clock ticking down. Tenancious play down the left got him through on goal in the box, but Dieng was equal to his shot to keep it out.

There was just about enough time to round off the day with a rather fortuitous fourth goal. Robinson drove forward as usual and blasted one goalwards, with a large deflection wrong-footing the QPR number one to ensure the points came back with Fulham.
The Whites go again on Wednesday evening against Cardiff City at the Cottage, we'll see you there!
