He’s back! Tom Cairney made his long-awaited return to the side from the bench in the second half of Fulham’s 2-0 win over Cardiff City on Wednesday evening, claiming a well-earned Man of the Match award for his efforts.
It has been a difficult 10 months for Cairney, whose injury problems have plagued him since last December.
The Club Captain, having only graced the pitch for 10 minutes, rocketed an effort from just inside the penalty area giving Cardiff City goalkeeper Alex Smithies no chance at all as the ball hit the back of the net.
It was Cairney’s first goal for the club since netting against Crystal Palace last season.
TC won the MOTM with 52% of the vote, Jean Michaël Seri came in second with 34.5%, followed by Tosin on 3%.
