Last week, a number of young people from our Fulham Kicks programme attended a national one day Youth Summit event run by the Premier League.

This was an opportunity to amplify the voices of our young people, share their experiences and use their ideas to bring positive change to their communities.

Participants from Fulham FC Foundation and other club CCOs discussed key themes around racism, youth violence and participation in football activities as well as competing in a number of challenges across the day.

In one of the challenges, the young people were asked to create a 30 second video full of messages they would share with a player who had experienced racial abuse. Fulham’s effort was recognised as amongst the best entries from across Premier League and EFL clubs.

This event, and the participation of our young ambassadors, follows a series of workshops at Fulham Kicks sessions around similar themes, including how our young people can have a positive impact on the people around them.

“I enjoyed the event, it was helpful. My favourite part was working together as a group as we had lots of ideas.” – Emran Weheliye, Fulham Kicks Ambassador

“I am proud of our young people stepping up, expressing themselves and being a part of such a great social action project.” – Sandy Abi-Elias, Youth Engagement Officer Fulham FC Foundation
