Fulham v Swansea City | Wednesday 29th September 2021 | 7.45pm | Craven Cottage | #FULSWA
The opposition
- There’s a new regime in place at Swansea this season following Steve Cooper’s summer departure after two years at the helm, with MK Dons boss Russell Martin chosen as his successor.
- Three defeats in the first five Championship fixtures suggested it could be a long season for the Jacks, but they’ve since steadied the ship and are unbeaten in four, most recently beating Huddersfield Town at the weekend, their first win at home since the beginning of May.
- Teams have often struggled to breach the Swansea defence this season, with their five clean sheets the best in the Championship. But on the flipside, Stoke, Preston and Luton have all managed to put three past them.

Fulham team news
Tom Cairney and Fabio Carvalho are back out on the pitches but are not yet ready for action, though Kenny Tete has been pencilled in for a return to training during the international break. Terence Kongolo’s comeback for the Under-23s last week hit a snag, with Marco Silva revealing: “He wasn't confident and didn't finish the first half, he came off. He's not training again. He needs time to come back stronger. We have to give him time. He's a special situation. He needs time and support. It was a bad injury.”
Swansea team news
The centre-back pairing of Rhys Williams and Ryan Bennett missed the Huddersfield win, but there is cautious optimism in the Welsh camp that they will be fit for Fulham. Striker Michael Obafemi is definitely out.
Half-time
Fulham Paralympian Chad Perris (below left) will be on the pitch at half-time for a Q&A with Ivan Berry.

Pre-match quotes
"They like to attack, they like to start from the back, it’s clear the way they want to play. They try to press the opponent as well, and I think we will see a good game, with both teams trying to win the match."
Marco Silva
Fulham Head Coach
"They obviously have the goals, in Mitrović they have one of the most prolific goal scorers at this level, as he showed the last time he’s been in this division."
Russell Martin
