Fresh from their excellent Premier League Cup win, Fulham Under-23s turn their focus back to the league as they host Southampton on Friday (7PM).

Form

Fulham:

The young Whites continued their impressive run on Monday, fighting back from behind to defeat PL Cup newcomers Southend United. With a record of three wins and one draw in all competitions, our 23s will be feeling confident as they appraoch the young Saints.

Southampton:

Having been relegated from Division One last season, our opposition will be hoping to compete towards the top of the table. They too picked up a decent cup result earlier this week, drawing 1-1 with Arsenal away from home. Their previous PL2 game ended in defeat after being narrowly beaten by Middlesbrough.

Player Thoughts

Kieron Bowie, who has already got himself off the mark this season, was pleased with the way his side dealt with a more unfamiliar style.

"Southend were a slightly different type of opposition that we're not really used to coming up against. They played a more long ball game which is to most PL2 teams who get the ball down and play.

"In the first half we didn't play our usual game but I'm happy we got the job done"

Kieron Bowie v WBA

After firing in 15 goals in 21 appearances last season for the 18s, Kieron is embracing the challenge of playing at a higher level.

"It's definitely a different challenge because the players are a lot more physical as they're older. I'm making sure I take it in my stride and continue to perform to a high enough level."
