Fulham Under-18s smashed Birmingham City 5-0 on Saturday to continue their rapid rise up the league table.

A quickfire Lemar Gordon double early on had us two up at half time, before Matt Dibley-Dias, Michael Olakigbe and Olly Sanderson got in on the act later in the game.

The first goal came after some excellent work from Sanderson, who charged towards goalkeeper Kobi Brooks and forced an error in the 14th minute. Brooks' rushed kick cleared our number nine but fell perfectly for Gordon, who slammed home.

The youngster, who has enjoyed plenty of Under-18 game time this season, showed great technique to double our advantage just four minutes later. Terrell Works got the ball in between the lines and dribbled at the young Blues' defence before finding Gordon with a pass towards the left. The winger controlled the ball excellently before firing a left-footed shot into the far bottom corner.

After a solid opening half, Ali Melloul's side went in with a two goal advantage.

Okkas switches play

Our lads needed to ride a bit of a storm after the restart, with the visitors flying out of the traps in search of a way back into the game.

Goalkeeper Michael Allen made a quality save, quickly getting down to his right to block a poweerful shot from the edge of the box.

We made it out of that storm with our cushion still intact, and Dibley-Dias made it three with one of his speciality free-kicks. The midfielder curled his effort around the wall and into the top corner.

Substitute Olakigbe made an instant impact after coming on, scoring our fourth on the 74-minute mark. Dibley-Dias launched a perfect ball towards the back post which was coolly finished off by our tricky winger.

Olakigbe threatens

Sanderson got his reward for all his hard work in the final moments and it came from some extremely unselfish play by Luc De Fougerolles. The young wing-back intercepted the ball from a goal kick before squaring it to our number nine, who did the rest.

A strong display at Motspur Park and a seventh straight league win for our Under-18s. They face Arsenal this Saturday.
