Fulham Under-23s host Burnley at Motspur Park on Friday in what will be their final league game of the season (7pm KO).

Steve Wigley's side will be presented with the PL2 Division Two trophy after the game, so come down to watch it all unfold!

Form

Fulham:

The young Whites will be eager to end the season on a win and bounce back after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Reading on Monday. That loss represented only our 23s' fourth of the campaign.

Burnley:

Burnley are currently enjoying one of the best runs of form in the league and have won five of their last six, with the other result being a draw with Stoke City. Their most recent victory was at Aston Villa, where they fought back from behind to win 2-1. The young Clarets are currently outside of the play-off places on goal difference, so will be desperate to pick up points.

Last Time Out

Our 23s edged past the young Clarets with a 2-1 win back in November. Matt Dibley-Dias' goal soon after the break was cancelled out by Michael Mellon 20 minutes later, before Luciano D'Auria-Henry scored what proved to be the winner soon after. Connor McAvoy had a chance to make it three from the penalty spot, but failed to convert.

Player Thoughts

Jay Stansfield is happy with his team's campaign but isn't ready for the football to stop just yet. His sights are set on cup progression too.

"This year has been really positive for all of us," he said. "Hopefully we can get the win and then look forward to lifting the trophy, but we will be using the game as preparation for our cup game on Tuesday. A win in that game would change this season from a positive one into an unbelievable one."

When asked about Steve Wigley's impact, Stanno responded: "The work ethnic in our group, not only this year but since we won the league as Under-18s has been unbelievable and that’s why as a group we are so successful. Everyone has the right attitude and wants to win games, we all work for each other on the pitch and I think it has shown over the whole season."

The clinical finisher, who has notched six goals in 13 appearances for the 23s, is thankful for the senior experience he's picked up this year.

"Training with the First Team has helped me massively this season, but also, playing games for the Under-23s has helped me get minutes under my belt and be ready for when I was needed at a senior level."

On Friday's challenge, the 19-year-old said: "They're a team with a lot of physical presence and they'll look to get in our faces, but hopefully on the night we'll bring the quality and end the season with a win in front of our fans."
