Fulham FC is delighted to announce the introduction of a Sensory Room at Craven Cottage, designed to improve the matchday experience for neurodiverse fans.

Beginning with our home match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday, the non-pitch facing room provides a calming and safe space for supporters by reducing the sensory overload that neurodiverse fans can experience.

Partnered with KultureCity, it incorporates adjustable lighting, sensory toys and bean bags to create a comforting environment for fans, both adults and children, who can also follow the match via TV.

A specially trained steward will also be stationed to assist fans and families who are using the room.

“It’s so exciting to see the room finally come to use,” said Nicola Walworth, the Club’s Supporter and Disability Liaison Officer. “The idea has been in the pipeline, with work carried out during the close season, so it’s great to see our fans with sensory needs now have a safe space to watch the match from.”

“The introduction of the sensory room is another great facility provided by Fulham FC for supporters who can suffer with anxiety or have other neurodiverse issues,” added Mark Davies, Chair of the Fulham Disabled Supporters’ Group (DSA).

“The fact that it was Tony Khan himself who introduced KultureCity to the Club for this facility shows that there is a great commitment from everyone at Fulham towards supporters with disabilities. It is one of many great examples of the Club once again working in close partnership with DSA to help to enhance and improve the safety, comfort and matchday experience for disabled fans.”

Fulham FC have worked with KultureCity since 2020, in what was a UK-first sporting partnership. The non-profit organisation has also provided sensory bags and specialised steward training to ensure the ongoing positive matchday experiences for neurodiverse fans.
