Fulham have five nominations at the upcoming 2022 London Football Awards.

Marco Silva is up for Manager of the Year, our entire frontline of Aleksandar Mitrović, Neeskens Kebano and Harry Wilson are in contention for EFL Player of the Year, while Fabio Carvalho has been nominated for Young Player of the Year.

Silva’s competition comes from Premier League bosses Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea), David Moyes (West Ham United) and Patrick Vieira (Crystal Palace), as well as Matt Gray, manager at Football League newcomers Sutton United.

The shortlist for EFL Player of the Year is made up entirely of Fulham and Queens Park Rangers players, with our attacking trio joined by midfielders Ilias Chair and Chris Willock.

Carvalho is the sole EFL representative amongst the Young Player of the Year nominees, with the 19-year-old up against Palace’s Conor Gallagher and Tyrick Mitchell, as well as North London pair Bukayo Saka and Oliver Skipp.

“This type of recognition and possible award is always a consequence from your job and the performance of the team,” Silva said after learning of the nominations.

“As a team we have been really strong in our competition, so you will always have players highlighted, sometimes the manager, but for us the main thing is always the collective and what we can achieve as a football club, and all the other things will be a consequence from that.

“This is a situation where we are happy to be there, I’m really pleased to see my players nominated, but it doesn’t take our focus away from what we should do every single day, because the main thing for us is what we can achieve as a football club at the end of the season.”

The awards ceremony will take place at the Camden Roundhouse on Thursday 3rd March.
