Bobby De Cordova-Reid was frustrated with the mountain that Fulham gave themselves to climb against Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers struck twice in the first half to take control at Craven Cottage, and despite De Cordova-Reid hitting a lovely strike in the 83rd minute, time was against us in our pursuit of an equaliser.

“The goals we conceded, we’re not happy with them, and obviously they put us in a position where we’re chasing the game,” Bobby stated.

“I think maybe if it’s 1-0 at half-time then we’ve got a better chance of coming out second half and getting something.

“But at the same time, we gave it a good go, unfortunately we couldn’t get the second goal, but I feel there’s positives to take out of it, with the way we played and the way we attacked.

“We pushed, we never gave up, and that’s a good sign from us. We haven’t been in situations where we’re a couple of goals down very often this season, so it was a different challenge for us.

“At half-time we said we’d go out there and give it everything, and maybe if we’d got a goal earlier then we probably could have got a second one.

“There’s some things that we can’t control, but the first thing that we can control is the way we play and the way we create chances.

“I think we did that well, maybe we didn’t create as many clear cut ones as we would have liked, but we put balls in good areas.

“We just didn’t get the rub of the green, I don’t think.”

Fulham completely dominated the second half but found ourselves up against a highly organised Huddersfield outfit, who showed exactly why they look a solid bet for a Play-Off spot.

“Look, they’re 15 unbeaten now, so credit to them, they’re a good side,” De Cordova-Reid said. “We knew that before the game, and they carried out and executed their plan well.

“But at the same time, the two goals that we conceded, we could’ve done better.

“Sometimes it happens in a season. Not everything is going to be rosy and clean.

“Now we have to pick ourselves up, we’ve got another game on Wednesday and hopefully we can get another three points.”

The game in question sees Peterborough United visit SW6, and our no.14 is pleased that there’s another fixture so soon around the corner.

“The lads are itching to go, we want to put it right, and there’s no better time to do that than Wednesday,” he explained.

“It didn’t really fall for us today, but we’ll go again.”
